These teachings provide a clear and structured foundation in seated meditation within the tradition of Kashmir Shaivism, guiding you from the basics to profound awareness.

What You’ll Learn:

Week 1 –Foundations of Breath Meditation

  • Becoming aware of the natural, free-flowing movement of the breath
  • Why does a Kashmir Shaivite meditate? What is the end goal?
  • Understanding awareness in meditation—how it differs from other traditions
  • The meaning of Moksha (Liberation)

Week 2 –The Four Parts of the Breath

  • Noticing the pauses between inhale and exhale
  • Practical do’s and don’ts for effective meditation
  • Creating a supportive environment for stillness
  • How to develop consistency in your practice

Week 3 –Refining the Gaze & Breath Awareness in Daily Life

  • Practicing gazing downward while remaining aware of the space between the eyebrows
  • Deepening focus on the pause at the end of the exhale
  • Expanding meditation beyond seated practice—watching the breath while walking, cooking, talking, and even laughing✨

Week 4 –Recognizing the Perceiver

  • Shifting awareness to who is watching the breath
  • Observing from the space between the eyebrows while remaining effortless
  • Swamiji’s powerful example of the marching students—how awareness can remain steady while the breath flows
  • Experiencing meditation as a continuous presence in daily life
